Google Making a Gaming Console and Watch?

The Wall Street Journal has reported that, according to sources, Google is unveiling a number of new (or re-newed) products, in an attempt to broaden its reach into markets its competitors are eyeing.
According to Journal writer Amir Efrati, Google is working on breathing new life into its short-lived Nexus Q multimedia center, and has its sleeves rolled up as it works on its own gaming console and watch.
Here's a round-up of blogs from Technorati's listing that have weighed in on the news:
Android Community - Google tipped to be building a game console and Nexus smartwatch : According to Android Community, the Android-powered watch will be part of the Nexus product line, and there's a new Nexus Q multimedia center coming.
The Telegraph - Google 'working on videogame console' : The Telegraph reminds its readers that Google "has openly shared a vision of its free Android operating software being used in a range of devices, including refrigerators and clothes dryers", so expect many more products!
Slashgear (Technorati Top 100 Overall) - Google Android console, smartwatch and “Nexus Q 2″ tipped in works : It would seem that Google is trying to head off both the Ouya gaming console and upcoming Apple iWatch before they have a chance to take hold.
Droid Life - WSJ: Google is Developing a New Nexus Q, Gaming Console and Google Watch : Their sources say the Nexus Q will also be the gaming console, which makes more sense.
What are your thoughts? Are there already too many consoles out there, or are you excited about the prospects of playing more powerful full-fledged games on a Google operating system?
