Tech Blog Rumors

Unofficial Google News Blog Google Operating System (Technorati Top 100 Technology and InfoTech) has reported that the search and web tool giant is working on a new web application to allow us to catalog our personal belongings.
For the more altruistic of us, the service, simply called Google Mine, is said to have the ability to allow us to share our personal belongings with others we've connected with online.
Leveraging the power of their socialized toolbox Plus, Google is said to be interested in beta testing the service in San Francisco.
It would be interesting to see how this works following a natural disaster, and people are trying to get back on their feet following a loss of belongings...
What are your thoughts? Many of us might like the idea of cataloging the more expensive of our personal items, for insurance purposes, but are you willing to put up things you own for others to lay dibs on, at least for a time? After all, it's hard enough to get borrowed items back from the neighbor...
